Why Purchase Our Batting Tee
To our potential customers:
We want to thank you for giving us a few moments of your time. Our main objective as 'softball/baseball lifers' is to promote softball/baseball, specifically to ensure more youngsters choose softball/baseball as their main sport of enjoyment. Many of us remember the enjoyment of the game and have the love of the game. Hitting a softball/baseball is perhaps the most enjoyable part of softball/baseball. Our goal is to entice youngsters to enjoy hitting a softball/baseball by helping them master the proper techniques.
Here is a great way to get enrollment back up in youth baseball and softball. Youth baseball and softball loose countless members to other sports because they get hit by pitchers who aren’t quite ready to pitch in games. The hitters get frustrated at themselves when they are not ready to hit live pitching because they have not learned the proper techniques to hit a moving ball. The games for these post Tee-Ball leagues are littered with walks and hit batters and become boring to parents, coaches, and most of all the kids who just want to hit and play in a fast paced game. Too much pressure too early helps create a situation where the majority of young baseball and softball players quit and find a sport that’s faster paced and comes with less pressure. This is why Soccer is the biggest youth sport in America, because it’s fast paced and has limited pressure on the kids, they are free to have fun and just play the game.
Poptoss Inc. is currently working with some local Park Districts to start Poptoss leagues for 8 and 9 year olds. With kids actually being able to hit in a game it keeps runners on the base and quickens up the pace for short attention spans. While the games are going on, pitchers can still field their position and continue to progress with their location and technique on the side lines or for a couple of innings per game, so they can be ready to pitch to live hitters in a couple of years.
The Poptoss can also be used for indoor 5 on 5 or 6 on 6 leagues using a foam ball or Jugs 'Lite Flite' ball. This allows the young players to develop those infield fundamentals while keeping the game fast paced for those having short attention spans with the foam ball (OR Jugs 'Lite Flite baseball/softball'). In Poptoss leagues, the action stays on the infield and hitters are getting on base, running and having fun, while the fielders are being kept busy and honing their skills and fundamentals on defense.
At Poptoss Inc. we believe the national pastime is being hurt by losing kids early who never have the chance to reach their full potential. By working with us your Park District can help keep the game alive and enrollment up.
Poptoss Inc. is now involved in sponsoring Home Run Derby’s for Slow-Pitch Softball. We have had wonderful feedback on organizing these events for adult leagues. With the Poptoss there is no need for a pitcher and hitters get consistent strikes to hit. Contact us for more information.
Poptoss Inc. is also willing to help with Fund-Raisers for your leagues. If you allow us to set up a booth at a tournament we would be able to give you 10% of all sales made. Contact us for more information
The Poptoss batting machine is a great way to teach those Tee-Ball kids to hit a moving ball. Our “Yellow Tee” is designed specifically for young kids 7 and up although with close adult supervision a 5 year old can hit off of it once they get their hands and eyes working together. The Yellow batting tee can be positioned 7 to 8 feet out in front of the hitter and it will propel the suggested baseballs and softballs back towards the hitter from 6 to 10 feet away. (Whiffle, Foam, Jugs 'Lite Flite' baseball). If you're using tee baseballs, call or email us for an enhanced Yellow batting tee.
Poptoss Inc. is teaming up with Park Districts to start Poptoss leagues and hopefully bring enrollment back up in post Tee-Ball leagues. Youth Tee-Ball is great and helps develop a love for the game in children across America, however once kids are in the post Tee-Ball leagues, little of what they learned is helpful in live pitching situations. With having a Poptoss league after Tee-Ball the batters can develop the skills and abilities to hit a moving ball while the pitchers can develop their control and location to be ready in a year or two to face live hitters.
The Poptoss can also be used for indoor 5 on 5 or 6 on 6 leagues using foam balls or the Jugs 'Lite Flite' balls. This allows the young players to develop those infield fundamentals while keeping the game fast paced for those having short attention spans. With our suggested balls and these Poptoss leagues, the action stays on the infield and hitters are getting on base, running and having fun, while the fielders are being kept busy and honing their skills and fundamentals on defense, and becoming acquianted with the many decisions predicated by 'game situations'.
Baseball
(Youth and Adult)
The Poptoss “Red Tee” is specifically designed to use with league baseballs, “dimpled” rubber balls, and 11 inch softballs. Use the Poptoss with the “Angler Platform” and hit soft toss drills by yourself into a net at home or at a field with a bucket of balls. The length of time you have from loading the ball to when it pops is adjustable by loosening or tightening the “Timing Knob”. The spin of the popped ball is adjustable using the “Anglar”, this allows you to go from a “curveball” type of spin to a “knuckleballs” lack of spin. The height of the popped (lobbed) ball is adjustable with the use of both the 'Anglar ' and ”Height-Adjustment Collar and the “Tee Angle Adjustment knob”. This allows young hitters as well as older hitters to use the same machine. Adjusting the force of the popped ball also allows a hitter to increase their hand-eye coordination, bat speed and quick twitch muscles by giving less time to locate and track the ball while swinging. When first using the Poptoss try it at it’s biggest arc to give enough time to get used to. Then bring down the arc of the popped ball to get your swing compact and tight.
Girls Fast-Pitch Softball
(Youth and Adult)
The Poptoss “Purple Tee” is specifically designed to use with (12 inch) 'game' softballs. The Poptoss with the “Angler Platform” and hit soft toss drills by yourself into a net at home or at a field with a bucket of balls. The length of time you have from loading the ball to when it pops is adjustable by loosening or tightening the “Timing Knob”. The spin of the popped ball is adjustable using the 'Anglar ' and the “Height-Adjustment Collar and the “Tee Angle Adjustment knob”, this allows you to go from a “curveball” type of spin to a “knuckleballs” lack of spin. The force or height of the arc of the 12 inch softball is adjustable with the use of both the “Height-Adjustment Collar and the “Tee Angle Adjustment knob”. This allows young hitters as well as older hitters to use the same machine. Adjusting the force or arc of the popped ball also allows a hitter to increase their hand-eye coordination, bat speed and quick twitch muscles by giving less time to locate and track the ball while swinging.
Slow-Pitch Softball
(Adult Use)
The Poptoss “Red Plus Tee” is specifically designed to use 11” league softballs and practice balls. This machine will pop the ball a little higher than the Fast-Pitch softball machine to accommodate the bigger longer swings that slow-pitch hitters sometimes have. We are currently using these for Home-Run Derby’s and have had a lot of good feed back on the machine. A lot of times it’s hard to get a whole softball team out to take batting practice and the pitcher can’t pitch to everyone so the Poptoss comes in handy to give all who participate in practice quality pitches to hit. The length of time you have from loading the ball to when it pops is adjustable by loosening or tightening the “Timing Knob”. The spin of the popped ball is adjustable using the “Ball Striker Elevator”, this allows you to go from a “curveball” type of spin to a “knuckleballs” lack of spin. The height of the popped ball is adjustable with the use of both the “Height-Adjustment Collar and the “Tee Angle Adjustment knob”. This is good for quickening bat speed and reaction time. When first using the Poptoss try it at it’s highest setting to give enough time to get used to. Then bring down the height of the popped ball to get your swing compact and tight.
